Adrenal Exhaustion Case Study: Joan had been involved in a serious train accident thirty years earlier. She had suffered exhaustion ever since, and was now in her late fifties.

When doing the etheric scan, I found that her base chakra was depleted and that the energy in both adrenal glands was disturbed. The healing consisted of chakra balancing and vitality triangles. The latter were of particular importance in this case, as the lower pranic triangle and upper vitality triangle involve the base chakra, which conditions the adrenal glands. In addition, the adrenal triangle was visualized and the adrenal glands themselves traced in light. After the healing, I gave Joan homeopathic drops specifically for the adrenal glands, vitamin B complex, and the tissue salts magnesium and potassium phosphate for the nervous system. She could hardly believe the difference in her energy after a few weeks. Many months later, I was pleased to find that she had not relapsed.

This case illustrates the fact that some chakra disturbances will manifest only in a disturbance of the associated gland (in this case the adrenal glands), rather than spreading further to the associated organs and tissues. We also see the profound effect of an old shock over many years and the need, therefore, to take a careful client history. Again, we see the value of treating the person from both an inner and outer perspective, as the physical remedies toned the adrenal glands concurrently with the restoring of the underlying energies in her etheric field.

As the repository of the will to survive and to be, the base chakra houses a lot of energy in health. In most chronic disease, in the face of fear or exhaustion, these basic energies are depleted. We have considered here some case histories featuring ailments of the organs or tissues conditioned by the base center including osteo- and rheumatoid arthritis, lower back pain, sciatica, kidney stones, a calcified shoulder, and adrenal exhaustion.

The minerals needed for the skeleton (mentioned earlier) show the base center in its connection with the Earth and with the basic energies that this chakra involves. Often, towards the end of the healing process, I visualize a line connecting the minor center below the solar plexus of the client with the Earth, if they need grounding and energizing with the energy taken in by the base center.
